A (moving) artist at work

Today started in Sawston at 7am where I met Tim, a brand new client, for my first job of the day.  The work involved transporting a whole van full of equipment for the Cambridge Drawing Society for their art exhibition at Leys School in central Cambridge.  I got the van loaded up in no time at all and it was great to receive this photo of the art on display this afternoon.  Great to have played a small part in this!  Thanks to Leys School for being so accommodating and offering me coffee and a lovely piece of cake.  It will be a pleasure to return in a few weeks to help Tim and the team move their equipment once again.

Changing of the seasons

The seasons may be changing but the jobs at Mick and Van continue just the same!  Today I was pleased to do a full house move for a customer who heard about me through a recommendation from another long standing client.  She was delighted to move from St Neots into her new home in Cambridge which is much closer to her children's school, saving them a lot of driving.

Returning customers

Throughout July and August I've racked up the miles in the VW Crafter driving up and down the country (that's the bonus of having a reliable vehicle!), as well as doing many local jobs.  I've had multiple clients including some regulars coming back for repeat jobs. I've met so many lovely people who I've helped to move to their new home or pick up a piece of furniture, or do a tip run.  I was saying to my partner the other day, I never dread Monday's in this job - who needs a holiday when you love your job this much.

Summer moves aplenty

The jobs have been stacking up this month with lots of new customers wanting help from Mick and Van - even customers from as far afield as Singapore getting in touch ahead of a house move back in the UK next month.  It seems I am reaching right across the world!

A busy couple of months

I've had so many jobs over the last few months there's been no time to write any updates!  Jobs have ranged from transporting wooden floorboards from Norfolk to moving a family to a their new home in Cambridge.  The van has been full with boxes, bikes, furniture and more.
