Summer moves aplenty

The jobs have been stacking up this month with lots of new customers wanting help from Mick and Van - even customers from as far afield as Singapore getting in touch ahead of a house move back in the UK next month.  It seems I am reaching right across the world!

Closer to home, I spent a morning driving from village to village around Cambridge collecting items purchased off Facebook Marketplace so a lovely American man and his partner could set up a new home ahead of the arrival of their twins!  He even bought me and my colleague pastries and coffee for a lunch break.

This is becoming a regular thing - when people order goods on selling sites and need them delivering - I also collected and delivered a sofa that a guy had bought for his daughter, as well as moving an antique wardrobe.  I had to take the doors off.  Thankfully it came apart in four pieces which made it easier to manoeuvre downstairs and out to the van.  Then I put it back together again at the other end - always have tools in the van so I can do a good job.

I also helped a couple move their belongings into storage at the last minute after their house purchase was delayed.  Three bedrooms worth of stuff moved in two van loads and less than two hours!  Special mention to Carol at Mega Storage Haverhill who couldn't have been more helpful.

Also had a customer who I've worked with earlier this year. I collected a large Rangemaster dual oven from Bedfordshire and moved it to the house he is building in Cambridge.  It was a tough job as it was so heavy - but no job is too big for Mickandvan!  Once it was secured and strapped down, we were on our way.  It is a pleasure to work with repeat customers and commercial builders.
